13 Sea Lions Freed from Illegal Nets

Thirteen California sea lions were rescued from illegal fishing nets. The rescue took place at San Jorge Island, with help from various organizations. These nets are often left behind from illegal fishing for totoaba fish. Sea Shepherd’s patrols have increased protection in the Upper Gulf of California. Teams are planning to continue removing dangerous nets to save more sea lions.
