High Seas Fisheries Management
A 2021 report revealed serious threats to 31 species of oceanic sharks and rays, mostly due to increased fishing pressure. Three-quarters of these species are now threatened. To improve their populations, better fisheries management and international cooperation are essential to ensure effective conservation across different regions of the ocean.
