Rhode Island Native Clinches Title of New England’s Youngest PADI Certified Master Scuba Diver

Mia DaPonte, a 12-year-old from East Greenwich, Rhode Island, is now New England’s youngest Master Scuba Diver. She achieved this title on February 18th after completing multiple certification requirements from PADI, including 50 dives. Mia’s training included challenging dives in cold New England waters and culminated in a trip to Cozumel, Mexico, where she performed her final certification dives. Her instructors praised her determination and passion for diving, noting that fewer than 2% of divers reach this elite status.
