Thailand has introduced strict rules restricting underwater photography to protect its coral reefs from damage caused by inexperienced divers. Only certified divers with an Advanced Open Water certification or at least 40 logged dives can use underwater cameras. New divers and those in training are not allowed to photograph during their dives. Snorkelers are also restricted, as they must swim above reefs in deeper waters and wear life jackets unless certified. These measures aim to minimize harm to marine life and encourage divers to gain more skills.
