Bell of WWI shipwreck, USS Jacob Jones, recovered
The bell of the USS Jacob Jones, the first US Navy destroyer sunk in WWI, has been recovered near the UK’s Isles of Scilly, after being struck by a torpedo. The Salvage and Marine Operations Team retrieved the bell after it was located by a team of British technical divers. The bell will be displayed in honor of the 64 men who lost their lives.
