Completing an open water course does not automatically make you a diver. You are just beginning your journey, and it’s essential to practice what you’ve learned to retain your skills. Regular practice helps combat skill fade and enhances your abilities. Furthermore, gaining real-world experience is crucial for applying your training in various environments. To truly consider yourself a diver, you should also be able to rescue a buddy and aim for further certifications, such as the Rescue Diver level.
