Antarctic Krill Harvest Surges

The 2025 krill season in Antarctica saw record harvests. Over 518,000 tonnes of krill were taken, harming the food chain. Many sea animals, like whales and penguins, depend on krill for survival. The lack of limits on krill fishing is causing immediate dangers to marine life. This unchecked harvesting could lead to greater ecological imbalance in the Southern Ocean.
