CNS Limits

Central Nervous System (CNS) oxygen toxicity is a serious concern for divers. It can occur when breathing high oxygen levels at deeper depths. RAID suggests a target operating depth of 1.4 ATA of oxygen for recreational dives and a maximum operating depth of 1.6 ATA for technical dives to reduce risks. Divers need to monitor their exposure to oxygen to avoid toxicity, especially when using nitrox or trimix gases.
