Dive boat captain found guilty in scuba diver’s death

A dive boat captain in Florida was found guilty of manslaughter after the death of 37-year-old Mollie Ghiz-Flynn in 2020. Ghiz-Flynn was diving with her husband when she became caught in the boat’s propeller, which had unexpectedly engaged while in neutral. Despite past mechanical issues with the boat, the captain set sail with divers aboard, leading to a series of tragic events. The captain now faces significant jail time for his actions, along with fraud charges related to COVID-19 relief.
