A 27-year-old man named Brian Dorine died when a scuba tank exploded at a dive center in Pointe-aux-Piments, Mauritius. He was filling the tank when the blast occurred, killing him instantly. Sudden tank failures are rare but can happen due to stress fractures from misuse or overfilling. Proper maintenance, including a burst disc in the tank valve, usually prevents such incidents. An investigation is underway to find out what caused the explosion.
