Excerpts from Jeff Goodman’s Book Action Camera Underwater Video Basics, Part 3 of 6: Buoyancy Control for Filming

Good buoyancy control is very important for filming underwater videos. Holding the camera steady requires hovering without swimming for long periods. You can adjust buoyancy by breathing in or out, and over-weighting may help in strong currents. Always be aware of your surroundings; avoid kicking up silt that reduces visibility. If you’re not horizontal, consider using trim weights for better balance.
