The great barracuda is the largest predator in the Atlantic. Divers often see them near North Carolina’s shipwrecks. They can swim fast, reaching speeds of up to 36 mph. Barracudas are skillful hunters, waiting calmly to ambush prey. Their sharp teeth and quick strikes make them effective predators.
