Marine Curios #15 – Regalecus glesne, or giant oarfish

The giant oarfish, Regalecus glesne, is a massive pelagic fish and the longest bony fish alive, with recorded lengths of up to 11 meters and rumored 17-meter specimens. Despite its name, this fish doesn’t actually row itself.
