Ocean Census heads to deep-sea Japan

The Ocean Census is exploring Japan’s deep-sea regions. They use a special submersible, Shinkai 6500, capable of diving 6,500 meters. This expedition aims to find new species and study marine biodiversity. It will cover the Nankai Trough and Shichiyo Seamounts. The mission highlights the importance of global collaboration in ocean research.
