One dead, one injured in fatal Marsa Alam shark attack

A tragic shark attack occurred off the coast of Marsa Alam, Egypt, resulting in one death and another serious injury. An Italian man, Gianluca Di Gioia, was killed while snorkeling outside the designated swimming area. Another man, Peppino Fappani, was hospitalized but his injuries are reportedly not serious. Authorities have closed the surrounding waters for investigations. While such attacks are rare, tiger sharks and other dangerous species can be found in the Red Sea.
