Poole-based recompression chamber to close

The Diver Clinic, a recompression chamber in Poole, Dorset, will close permanently on 31 January 2025. Established in 1992, it provided essential emergency services for scuba divers in the central English Channel. As one of only eight high-rated Category 1 chambers in mainland Britain, it specialized in advanced life support for serious decompression cases. The closure follows a review by NHS England, which determined that operating the clinic was no longer viable due to various factors. Patients will be referred to other facilities after the closure.
