What personal data we collect and why

Contact forms

When you fill out a contact form , we ask for your name and email address so that we can respond to you. Internally, the IP address assigned to your device at the time that you filled out the form is logged in my web server log. Web logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days before purging.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you are a visitor that does not log in, we will set a cookie once we show you a popup so that we don’t show it to you every time you visit.

We set a “facebook pixel” so that we know if you come to us from one of our facebook ads. This shares information about you and your actions as they relate to our site.

We set Google tracking cookie to track if you come from one of our Google controlled ads. This shares information with Google about you and your actions as they relate to our site.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Short answer:

Other than as described above, no-one.

Long answer:

If you make a purchase directly from us, we collect the data that is necessary to fulfill the order. If you have agreed to it, we also add you to our mailing list. You may opt out of being included in the mailing list at the time of the order or you may unsubscribe at any time by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email sent.

Our mailing list is managed by a third party and your information is stored on their site for us. They have agreed to the no share policy or we would not have chosen them as a vendor.

If you follow a link from this site to another site then their policies may be different.

We take all reasonable precautions to keep your data safe. We do not barter with your data. We will use it to fulfil orders or to stay in contact with you.

We occasionally will send out an email on behalf of another business. In this case, we have not shared your data with the other business, we sent the email. If you respond to the other businesses offer and share your information with them, their policies govern that, not ours.

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information provided in the user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your visit and all interactions with our website are logged in the web server logs. This includes your IP address which may or may not be personally identifiable information. Web logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days before being purged.

We store information on purchases you make or subscriptions, active or canceled, indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
