Restoring Marine Life: The UB-88 Project Tackles Ghost Nets on a Historic World War I U-Boat

The UB-88 Project, led by Ghost Diving USA, aims to remove about 3,000 square feet of ghost nets from a World War I U-boat, the UB-88. Scheduled for December 16-20, 2024, this initiative will help restore marine habitats and protect marine life. Expert dive teams will work carefully to minimize environmental harm during net removal. The project also involves community outreach, with repurposed nets turned into bracelets to fund future efforts.
