Shedd Aquarium and Coral Restoration Foundation™ Rebuild Reefs in the Dry Tortugas

Coral Restoration Foundation™ and Shedd Aquarium are rebuilding reefs in Florida. They reintroduced staghorn coral to the Dry Tortugas after a major coral bleaching event. The project used genetically diverse coral samples to increase survival rates. They monitored the coral’s growth and health at two different reef sites. This collaboration aims to improve coral ecosystem resilience and future restoration efforts.
