Side-gilled sea slug a first for Britain
A new species of side-gilled sea slug, Pleurobranchaea britannica, was discovered off the coast of Britain in 2018 and 2019. Measuring 2-5cm, it resembles Pleurobranchaea meckeli but was identified through DNA analysis by researchers at the University of Cadiz.
