SS Empire Heritage (Malin Head — 225 fsw)

The SS Empire Heritage was a large merchant ship that sank in 1944. It was originally a whale factory ship and later converted for wartime transport. The ship was hit by two torpedoes from a German submarine and sank quickly. Today, it rests in 230 feet of water off Malin Head, mainly upright, and carries many war supplies, including Sherman tanks. Divers can see these tanks and vehicles scattered around the wreck site.
