Michael Menduno, a pioneer in technical diving, is recovering from a stroke. He is known for promoting technical, mixed-gas diving in the 1990s. Menduno invented the term ‘technical diving’ and has won many awards. He helped create conferences like EUROTek and edited InDEPTH Magazine. A Taiwanese scuba diver and his instructor died in Okinawa, Japan. They went missing while diving at Manza Beach. Their friends reported them disappearing about ten minutes into the dive.
