Drowning can happen quickly and may not be loud. Look for signs like struggling to breathe or flailing arms. Respond to drowning by calling for help and providing rescue breaths. If someone is unresponsive, check their breathing and begin CPR. Always keep the patient warm and seek medical help, even if they seem fine.

A Malaysian diver, Haikal Rafie Halim, drowned off Pulau Weh, Indonesia. He was diving with friends when they encountered a strong underwater current. The group struggled to safely ascend at a depth of 30 meters. Haikal panicked and rushed to the surface without control. Despite CPR efforts, he was pronounced dead later that day.
