In the Faroe Islands, 246 pilot whales were killed in a hunt. This number included at least 30 pregnant females. Their unborn calves suffocated and were discarded. Many young whales were also killed but not counted. Groups like Sea Shepherd are working to stop these hunts and protect ocean life.
