A rare gold-colored nurse shark was caught in Costa Rica. This shark suffers from a pigmentation disorder called xanthism. Xanthism creates excess yellow pigment in its skin. The shark also has white eyes, linked to albinism. Even with these conditions, the shark is healthy and was released back into the ocean.
