Mediterranean Rays
The Mediterranean Sea is facing a significant risk of extinction for rays and other chondrichthyans like sharks. About half of the rays and more than half of the sharks in the region are threatened, including species such as the Spiny Butterfly Ray and the Giant Devil Ray, both of which are declining due to fishing pressures.
