An exciting discovery has been made in the Black Sea, where 60 well-preserved shipwrecks were found. The Black Sea Maritime Archaeology Project discovered these vessels while conducting underwater robotic surveys. Many of the shipwrecks date back to ancient times, with some as old as 2,500 years. The unique underwater conditions, such as low oxygen, help preserve the ships remarkably well, allowing features like ropes and wood carvings to remain intact. This finding offers a glimpse into the maritime history of the Byzantine, Ottoman, and Roman empires.
