British divers warned over Red Sea liveaboard safety

British divers have been warned about safety issues with liveaboard boats in the Egyptian Red Sea. The UK government’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) reported three serious incidents in the last 20 months, including the capsize of the Dive Pro Liveaboard Sea Story, resulting in fatalities and missing persons. The MAIB is now formally involved in investigations and will provide a safety bulletin for future divers. They express serious concerns regarding the safety of some Egyptian dive boats currently operating in the region.
