Stranded Shark at Lepe Beach, Solent. Shark Trust Statement
A Smalltooth Sandtiger shark washed up at Lepe Beach in the Solent on March 18, 2023. This species is globally vulnerable and rarely seen in this area, making the sighting significant. Unfortunately, the shark was butchered overnight, and the head, crucial for research, was removed.
