Coral reefs in Bonaire are facing severe bleaching due to record-high ocean temperatures. The Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire (RRFB) aims to improve coral resilience by growing heat-tolerant corals. They identify “super corals” that can withstand stress and propagate them for future generations. To enhance their efforts, RRFB urgently requires land for an on-land nursery facility for breeding and research, which could help combat threats from bleaching and diseases. Community support is essential for creating a more resilient future for Bonaire’s coral reefs.
