The USCGC McCulloch is a historically significant shipwreck located near Point Conception, California, at around 300 feet deep. A dive team led by Brett Eldridge successfully explored the wreck on November 7, 2024, marking one of the first times divers have visited it since its sinking in 1917. The dive presented numerous challenges, including difficult weather conditions, great depth, and limited visibility due to stirred-up sediment. Despite these obstacles, the team observed various marine life and documented the ship’s features, hoping to make further dives under better conditions in the future.
