Angel Sharks

Angel sharks are flat, bottom-dwelling predators that wait for prey, mainly flatfish. With at least 24 species, many are critically endangered due to fishing methods that harm their populations. Conservation efforts are underway to protect these vulnerable species, especially in the Mediterranean and Wales, where they face serious threats from habitat loss and fishing practices.
