Diving with a Purpose: Finding Slave Ships and Much More
Ken Stewart founded Diving With A Purpose (DWP) to train underrepresented scuba divers and locate slave ships. DWP has documented 18 shipwrecks related to the slave trade, involving over 18,000 volunteer hours. The organization empowers young divers and promotes marine conservation through programs that educate and restore ecosystems. DWP continues to expand its efforts, blending archaeological work with opportunities for youth to learn about and appreciate the ocean.
