In cave diving, restrictions are areas where divers must navigate narrow passages. Traditionally, these are categorized as minor or major, but this labeling can vary significantly based on a diver’s size, experience, and gear. Recently, a new grading system was proposed, which assigns letters and numbers to indicate the width and height of restrictions, providing more accurate and useful information for divers. This system aims to improve safety and planning by giving divers clear expectations about what they might encounter, ultimately making cave diving more accessible and organized.
