Creature Feature: Undulate Ray

The Undulate Ray, a species of skate, is easily identified by its dorsal patterns. It lays eggs in keratin eggcases referred to as “mermaid’s purses.” They have a diet ranging from shrimps to crabs, grow up to 90 cm, and are found in shelf waters up to 200m deep. Conservation efforts are in place to protect this species, with some areas prohibiting targeting and having management measures.
