Egyptian liveaboard MV Nouran catches fire and sinks at Daedalus reef

The MV Nouran, a liveaboard dive boat, sank at Egypt’s Daedalus Reef after catching fire on November 6. It was carrying 24 divers at the time, but all passengers and crew were safely evacuated without injuries. The cause of the fire is still unknown. This incident marks the fourth liveaboard loss in the Egyptian Red Sea in 2024. Red Sea Explorers, the boat’s owner, is addressing future bookings for affected guests.
