Entangled Skye sperm whale sadly dies

A sperm whale that was rescued from entanglement off the coast of Raasay died shortly after being set free. The whale was first spotted with ropes wrapped around its head and body, making it difficult for it to swim and feed. Although rescuers managed to cut some of the ropes and the whale showed signs of improvement, it later became stranded and died. Initial evaluations suggest that the entanglement may have led to malnutrition.
