Former Royal Australian Navy diver Ash Semmens plans to swim across the English Channel on his back. He will use a modified dolphin-kick with minimal arm movement while facing upwards. Semmens lives on Australia’s Gold Coast and is currently in training for the swim, which is scheduled for next June. The crossing is about 34 kilometers and will take around 15 hours in cold water. He aims to raise awareness and funds for the Navy Clearance Diving Trust, supporting veterans’ mental health.
