From Spore to Sporophyte: A Full Year of Growing Kelp
Kelp forests are vital for ocean health, supporting diverse marine life while carbon sequestering. These ecosystems are suffering due to climate change and pollution, prompting restoration efforts like the Ocean Wise Kelp Nursery. In its first year, the project successfully grew kelp from spores and planted it in coastal waters, demonstrating promising results and learning important lessons for future restoration work.
