Hear, hear! Underwater microphones offer extra protection to BC’s iconic whales

Whales in BC’s waters will now be protected from ship strikes using hydrophones, or underwater microphones, to detect their presence. This method is integrated into Ocean Wise’s Whale Report Alert System to reduce disturbances to the iconic whales.
