Inquiry rules British diver’s death in Indonesia was IPO

An inquiry into the death of British diver Robert Bolton in Indonesia revealed he likely died from Immersion Pulmonary Oedema (IPO). Bolton, 65, was diving at Crystal Rock in Komodo National Park and began panicking about 10 minutes into the dive. He managed to signal for help and ascended to the surface but lost consciousness shortly after. Experts confirmed he suffered from IPO, a condition that can cause fluid to accumulate in the lungs and lead to drowning-like symptoms. This incident highlights the risks associated with diving, particularly regarding understanding IPO.
