The Mediterranean Sea is home to many shark and ray species, but over half of them are at risk of extinction. With numerous countries and a vast fishing industry surrounding it, the region faces diverse challenges in marine conservation. The Mediterranean Programme focuses on protecting these species through policies, recovery efforts, and community engagement.
