Photographer of the Week – Effie Benjamin

Effie Benjamin is a unique underwater photographer who started her career with film cameras. Based in Monterey Bay, she captures the beauty of the underwater world along California’s coastline. She combines her love for freediving with photography, creating evocative images that reflect her love for both art forms. Recently, she switched to digital photography but still uses her favorite manual focus lenses to maintain her artistic approach. Effie’s work highlights the importance of marine ecosystems, such as giant kelp forests and the diverse sea life that inhabits them.
