Pom-pom crabs, found in the Indo-Pacific, have a unique relationship with sea anemones. These small crabs attach anemones to their claws for protection against predators. Interestingly, the anemones only grow on these crabs and are not found in the wild. Crabs that have extra anemones can share them with others that lack any, creating cloned anemones for both crabs. Researchers are still trying to understand how these crabs obtain their anemones and how this unusual relationship evolved.
