Pretty birds from the Red Sea

The Birdmouth Wrasse, found in the Red Sea, has an interesting shape resembling a bird’s beak. This unique mouth helps it catch crustaceans and other small sea creatures from coral reefs. During the day, they can be seen swimming near cleaning stations where they are cleaned by other fish. These wrasses can change sex from female to male based on social dynamics, ensuring their population stays balanced. Although their conservation status is currently healthy, habitat degradation and overfishing pose future risks.
