Pufferfish: Meet the Tetraodontidae Wonder

Pufferfish, belonging to the Tetraodontidae family, are known for their round bodies and ability to inflate when threatened. They can be toxic, with some species containing tetrodotoxin. Pufferfish have diverse habitats, from coral reefs to rivers, and exhibit interesting behaviors like curiosity and color changes. Conservation efforts are crucial due to threats like habitat degradation. Some pufferfish species include the dwarf puffer, red eye puffer, Amazon puffer, blue-spotted pufferfish, and Valentin’s sharpnose pufferfish.
