Sea Shepherd Triples Net-Pulling Operation
Sea Shepherd has upgraded its flagship, the M/V Seahorse, with a new crane to improve its ghost net-pulling efforts. Ghost nets, often lost fishing gear, harm marine life, including endangered species like the Vaquita. Sea Shepherd has removed over 1,000 ghost nets from the Vaquita Refuge, but more action is needed. The new crane will triple their capacity to remove these nets, significantly benefiting the survival of the Vaquita and other marine animals.
