Sea Story survivors speak out – Part 2: the rescue

On November 25, 2024, the Sea Story liveaboard capsized, leaving 35 people adrift. Survivors struggled to escape, finding themselves without life jackets and facing darkness as they tried to get to safety. Hissora Gonzalez and others were eventually rescued by a Zodiac boat, which spotted them due to a light. However, the life rafts were poorly equipped and did not contain the necessary supplies for survival. Many crew members were untrained, and communication regarding the rescue was severely lacking, which delayed help until nine hours after the capsizing.
