Second largest seizure of Totoaba Swim Bladders by Arizona CBP Officers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 242 pounds of Totoaba swim bladders, worth around $2.7 million, at the Nogales port. The Totoaba fish is an endangered species found in the Gulf of California. The illegal fishing methods used to capture them also threaten the critically endangered Vaquita porpoise, highlighting the ongoing issues of marine wildlife trafficking.
