Shark Attack Reports of 2019

In 2018, the International Shark Attack File reported 130 shark-human interactions. These attacks were categorized as either unprovoked or provoked. Unprovoked attacks occurred without human actions provoking the shark, while provoked attacks involved human interaction, such as when divers try to touch or feed sharks. The U.S. had the most unprovoked attacks, with Florida accounting for 24% of these cases. Even though more people are spending time in the ocean, the number of shark attacks remains lower than average.
